Higher professional examination as Head of Facility Management and Maintenance

You can complete the further training course to become a Head of Facility Management and Maintenance (abbreviation: LFMM) with a higher specialist examination. The course teaches you how to operate buildings, building services and production facilities. You will acquire the necessary knowledge for the efficient management of strategic and operational facility and maintenance management. Facility management and maintenance managers provide services for the provision of real estate infrastructure. This also includes the area of hospitality management (hotel management). The curriculum comprises 7 basic modules in the areas of management, safety and services as well as 4 networking subjects. The knowledge of the participants in the individual modules is tested by module completions.

After passing the higher professional examination, graduates are awarded the title of Head of Facility Management and Maintenance with a federal diploma. This recognized qualification confirms the ability to carry out strategic, tactical and operational maintenance in an industrial and infrastructural environment at both specialist and management level. The further training enables a holistic approach and thus the use of synergies in the integrated management of infrastructure facilities. The Head of Facility Management and Maintenance course (formerly Head of Facility Management / Head of Maintenance) lasts three semesters and can be completed on a part-time basis. Please also note the federal contribution of 50% of the course costs after passing the federal examination. The final qualification procedure consists of a diploma thesis, an oral examination on the diploma thesis, an expert discussion on three areas of specialization and a case study (business case).
