Die Ausbildung an einer Höheren Fachschule zum eidg. dipl. Biomedizinischen Analytiker / zur eidg. dipl. Biomedizinischen Analytikerin HF dauert in der Regel in Vollzeit drei Jahre. Mit einem Abschluss als Biologielaborant/in (veraltete Bezeichnung) oder Laborant/in mit einem eidgenössischen Fähigkeitszeugnis in der Fachrichtung Biologie, wie es heute heisst, ist es möglich, einen verkürzten Studiengang zu beantragen.

Während der dipl. Biomedizinischer Analytiker / dipl. Biomedizinische Analytikerin Ausbildung (HF) wird neben der Vermittlung der theoretischen Kompetenzen auch grossen Wert auf berufspraktische Kompetenzerweiterung gelegt. Daher nehmen die Schüler/innen an Berufspraktika in mindestens zwei Fachgebieten teil. Zur Auswahl stehen dabei Mikrobiologie, Histologie und Zytologie, Hämatologie und Hämostaseologie, Klinische Chemie und Immunologie, sowie Immunhämatologie und Transfusionsmedizin.

Persons who meet the following criteria are admitted to the Biomedical Analyst HF program:

  • Completion of at least three years of basic training with EFZ

or

  • Vocational, technical or high school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Very good knowledge of physics, biology, mathematics and chemistry
  • Existence of an aptitude test
