Property managers or property managers (FPE) with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education are responsible for the management of condominiums and rental properties, debt collection and reminders, property accounting and reporting back to the owners. Property managers are responsible for selecting tenants, setting an appropriate rent, drawing up tenancy agreements, handing over or accepting the apartment and giving notice to vacate. Property managers are also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the properties, employ staff such as a janitor, obtain quotes for refurbishments or renovations, monitor the progress of the work, prepare condition analyses and investment plans and manage renewal funds. Property managers are also responsible for billing ancillary costs, heating costs and operating costs and passing these on to tenants, as well as maintaining and monitoring the surroundings.
