One hundred percent employment is generally possible during continuing education, further training to become a Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Community Gastronomy (AFPE) and a Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Head Chef, provided you can and want to use your vacation days for the course. Both courses take place as block courses, each lasting one week. In the case of continuing education for the Federal Professional Examination (AFPE), these are six-week blocks spread over the course of a year; in the case of continuing education for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE), eight-week blocks spread over a year and a half. With all your vacation days and any overtime, continuing education, further training to become a head chef could therefore also be possible without workload restrictions, but should always be discussed with your supervisor in advance.
