With basic vocational training and a further 3 years of professional experience, you have the opportunity to register for various continuing education, further training courses with Federal Professional Examination (FPE). These continuing education, further training courses are:
  • Head of Restoration with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
  • Chef with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
  • Head of Hotel Housekeeping with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
  • Catering manager with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
  • Sommelier / Sommelière with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
  • Management Specialist with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
  • Chef de Réception with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FA)
Building on the Federal Professional Examinations, you can apply for Advanced Federal Professional Examinations (AFPE) or diplomas from Colleges of Higher Education or, if you have obtained a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate, you can apply to study at a College of Applied Sciences immediately after your basic training. Of course, after training in the hotel industry, you not only have the choice between individual Federal Professional Examinations or the University of Applied Sciences, but can also opt for courses leading to a certificate. These include, for example, courses to become a barkeeper or specialist innkeeper, as well as management courses and tourism clerk courses.
