Welche Selbstkenntnis als Führungsperson ist sinnvoll?
What self-knowledge as a leader is useful?
A good leader is self-reflective and has above-average people skills. Managers also need to be sensitive to the diversity of personalities, experiences, opinions, genders, generations, languages, cultures, working models and methods. A manager needs self-knowledge and other leadership skills:
- Self-awareness as a leader: awareness of the influence of mental shortcuts, stereotypes and prejudices on judgment, which run automatically and unconsciously
- Making conscious decisions as a manager by questioning one's own judgment and obtaining the opinions of colleagues
- Courage for modesty through sensitivity for others
- Self-reflection of the manager - among other things through frequent active requests for feedback
- Knowing your own strengths and limits and complementing these with the strengths of team members
- Social and leadership skills as a manager
- Communication skills and empathy
- Rules for cooperation must be defined and adherence to them ensured
