What is ITIL service management?
ITIL Service Management (ITSM) is a set of processes used to manage the design, planning and delivery of services. This includes all processes and activities for IT teams around the planning, creation, delivery and support of IT services. The prevailing view in the IT industry is that a correct approach to ITIL service management should include these three steps in this order:
- Development and implementation of IT technology
- Introduction and implementation of the right process
- Empowering employees to learn the technology and follow the process
