Was genau ist progressive Muskelentspannung?
What exactly is progressive muscle relaxation?
If you are under tension, stressed, angry or anxious, a wide variety of muscle groups are unconsciously tensed. Frequent stress, anger, annoyance, etc. often lead to painful blockages, such as tension in the neck, persistent headaches or back pain. These psychosomatic disorders (psychological causes as the basis for physical complaints) can be treated with a wide variety of relaxation techniques, but progressive muscle relaxation is a very effective relaxation method for eliminating the effects of stress. This involves tensing 16 different muscle groups in succession for a few seconds, about 5-8 seconds, and then relaxing them for about 30 seconds. This exercise is repeated once or twice before moving on to the next muscle group. The aim is to consciously relax the individual muscle groups and thereby eliminate physical and mental tension for a long time.
