Ist ein CAS in Lebensmitteltechnologie vergleichbar mit einem Studium?
Is a CAS in Food Technology comparable to a degree course?
A CAS in food technology is a continuing education course at a Universities, University or University of Applied Sciences that certifies participants with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in a specific subject area, such as The Science and Art of Coffee, Excellence in Food, Food Law or similar. The prerequisite is usually a university degree or a qualifying specialist and management position in the subject area. A CAS therefore represents a specialization after a degree or specialist training, but does not replace it. A Bachelor's degree in food technology or a Federal VET Diploma with subsequent training at a College of Higher Education or a Federal Professional Examination, possibly with a subsequent Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) as a food technologist, therefore form the basis for a CAS certificate course.
