The "Medical Practice Coordinator" training courses were created in response to an urgent need in the healthcare system: There are too few GP practices in Switzerland, which is why they are already under pressure. As life expectancy continues to rise, the need for care for chronic illnesses also continues to grow, meaning that the pressure on GP practices continues to increase.
The further training to become a medical practice coordinator SVMB offers improvements here: qualified medical practice coordinators can significantly relieve doctors by taking on certain tasks and thus also contribute to the economic success of medical practices.
The diplomas of the SVMB (Swiss Association for Medical Vocational Schools) guarantee a uniform training structure and quality, are recognized throughout Switzerland and are valued by employers. Until the introduction of the professional examination, they were regarded as a basic requirement for corresponding positions.
Since 2015, there has also been a professional examination (BP) for medical practice coordinators with a federal certificate. It can be taken in two directions - clinical or practice management; the training follows on from the SVMB diploma.
Anyone who passes the professional examination as a medical practice coordinator not only demonstrates the highest possible level of competence in coordinating a medical practice or caring for patients with chronic illnesses, but also acquires a federally recognized certificate of further training, which enables access to higher levels of further training and a professional career.
