The course is aimed at specialists with higher education / further training in a sub-area of logistics and with several years of professional and management experience. It serves as preparation for the higher professional examination and leads to a double qualification: SSC Certificate HFP and Swiss Federal Diploma in Logistics Management. The courses are designed to be taken alongside work and provide the necessary specialist knowledge during the 2 to 3 semesters of attendance days. The last semester is used to prepare your own diploma thesis, which plays an important role in the final examinations. The degree is federally recognized and enjoys a good international reputation. It provides access to further education such as postgraduate courses at universities and universities of applied sciences.

Head of Logistics with a federal diploma: The professionals in the flow of goods

Logistics managers are responsible for handling complex tasks in the internal and inter-company logistics of retail, production and service companies. They must manage the development, introduction and implementation of logistics solutions in line with the company process. The aim of their work is to increase productivity. In addition, logistics managers analyze and optimize the flow of goods and information. They take on a managerial role in the company and are therefore responsible for one of the areas of procurement logistics, warehouse logistics, production logistics, distribution logistics or waste disposal logistics.

Training to become a Head of Logistics takes one to two years (part-time). The examination content includes a diploma thesis, case studies, a questionnaire and a group assessment. After completing the training and passing the higher specialist examination, the federally recognized and protected title of "Logistics Manager with Federal Diploma" is awarded.

Questions and answers

A federal certificate of proficiency EFZ, a high school diploma or a comparable qualification with at least five years of professional experience in at least two of five company logistics areas (distribution, production, disposal, procurement, warehouse) with management, sub-project or project management experience, or a federal diploma or university degree with at least three years of professional experience in the above-mentioned areas. A federal certificate or university degree with at least three years of professional experience in the above-mentioned areas, or a diploma from a higher technical college or higher technical examination with two years of professional experience in two of the above-mentioned areas are required to take the diploma in logistics management. Project management and/or leadership experience as well as the required SSC module qualifications or certificates of equivalence are also required.

A preparatory course for the advanced diploma in logistics management is an in-service training course which lasts between 1 and 1.5 years, plus the preparation of the diploma thesis. The schools will inform you of the exact dates of the course.

Die Höhere Fachprüfung (HFP) zum diplomierten Logistikleiter / zur diplomierten Logistikleiterin umfasst neben einer schriftlichen Diplomarbeit auch deren mündliche, einstündige Prüfung, schriftlich geprüfte Fallstudien zu Logistikprozess 1 und 2, einen schriftlichen Fragekatalog von vier Stunden Dauer sowie ein ebenso langes, mündliches Gruppen-Assessment.

Certified logistics managers work in logistics management in retail, service and production companies. There they take on management and leadership tasks in inter-company and internal logistics, develop logistics concepts, introduce and implement them, are responsible for the analysis and optimization of the flow of information and goods as well as for overall or divisional logistics. They work as project managers, technical specialists, line managers and members of senior management.

In order to be admitted to the Diploma in Logistics Management examination, seven basic module examinations must be passed, six of which must have been passed within the last five years. The following SSC module examinations HFP must be passed:
