Electrician is the second most frequently taken federal higher professional examination in Switzerland. Around 200 diplomas are awarded every year. The training and the qualification are correspondingly well known among employers.
The diploma of a higher professional examination certifies that graduates have broad and sound specialist knowledge as well as entrepreneurial know-how and leadership skills. Many qualified electricians set up their own business or take over the management of an existing company.
ATTENTION: Since 2021, the course and title have been renamed "Electrical installation and safety expert". From 2019 to 2021, there will be a transitional period during which schools can advertise courses under both titles and examinations can be taken under the old or new regulations.
