What training courses are available in the ASGS sector?

The training paths for professionals with tasks in the area of occupational health and safety depend on the desired activity and are based on theSUVA-defined activity levels.

The basic and advanced training courses in ASGS are for health and safety officers at the four job levels:

  • 1. Level: KOPAS. The professional associations with ASGS industry solutions provide companies or KOPAS with industry-specific safety manuals and checklists and offer training and other services. The scope of ASGS training depends on the industry.
  • 2nd level: Persons with basic knowledge of occupational safety. Private training institutions teach the basics of ASGS in accordance with SUVA specifications. After completing the two-day basic course, participants receive a certificate of attendance.
With some providers, they can take a voluntary final test or submit a practical assignment and receive a school certificate if they pass.
  • 3rd level: Safety assistants (SiAs). SUVA offers an eight-day occupational safety course for the training of safety assistants.
  • 4th level: Occupational safety specialists (ASA). SUVA and private providers offer special courses to prepare for the federal professional examination "Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (BP)".
