What is augmented reality (AR)?

While virtual reality technology immerses users completely in the virtual world, augmented reality (or AR for short) is a combination of digital and analog areas. AR can be used via any end device such as a smartphone, tablet or PC, but of course - as with virtual reality - via glasses. Virtual information and objects in the form of digital details such as images, texts and animations are superimposed on the existing world.

It is characteristic of augmented reality that the user is not completely cut off from the real environment. However, additional information about their surroundings is displayed on the device.
