The type of training you receive in movement therapy is decisive in determining whether self-employment as a movement therapist is promising. When looking for suitable training, you should make sure that it either leads to a federal qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree or Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) (e.g. art therapist specializing in movement and dance therapy), or that you choose comprehensive training that meets the criteria of the EMR, the Empirical Medical Register, and thus allows you to settle the treatment costs via supplementary health insurance. However, self-employment can also be started with professional training, continuing education, further training and many years of professional experience if you wish to work as a learning therapist, specialist consultant or trainer.
