The apprenticeship to become a chef with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Federal VET Diploma) can be completed in two different ways. Firstly, you can complete practical training in an annual company and attend vocational school once a week at the same time. The second option is practical training in a seasonal company, for example in a ski resort over a period of at least 35 weeks, as well as block lessons as school-based training for a total of 9 weeks outside of the season.
