Ist für das HF Studium in Kinheitspädagogik/Kindererziehung ein Lehrabschluss in Betreuung Voraussetzung?
Is an apprenticeship qualification in childcare a prerequisite for the CHE degree course in Childhood Education?
No. The qualification as a childcare specialist (FaBe) is not a mandatory requirement for the educator training course at a College of Higher Education, i.e. for the course to become a certified childhood educator CHE.
It is also possible to obtain the federally recognized Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Childhood Education CHE (formerly: Kindererzieher HF / Kindererzieherin HF) with other previous training (Federal VET Diploma other professions, Matura, etc.). In such a case, a pre-study internship of at least 400 (for Federal VET Diploma) or 800 (for Matura, purely school-based training) hours in a child education institution as well as at least 50% employment in the field of childhood education during the entire training are required.
