Do I need any prerequisites for the CHE degree program in Childhood Education? (i.e. Childhood Educator CHE / Childhood Educator CHE)
As a rule, the following admission requirements apply in order to be admitted to a course of study at a College of Higher Education to become a childhood educator:
- Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Federal VET Diploma) or at least an equivalent qualification
and
- Passed the admission procedure of the training provider
or
- Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training in another profession, a baccalaureate or specialized baccalaureate, a federally recognized technical secondary school certificate or another at least equivalent qualification
and
- Passed the admission procedure of the training provider
and
- Proof of at least 400 hours of practical experience in the field of childhood education. (This is extended to at least 800 hours for people with a purely school-based education).
