Ms. Merita Ajeti is training to become an EFZ businesswoman at AKAD. She is completing her training at the AKAD full-time business school - currently in her fourth semester.

1 Ms. Ajeti, what was your professional background before training as an EFZ business administrator at AKAD College?

I originally trained as a childcare specialist and got a one-year job with a family as a nanny. I then realized that I wanted to make a change and obtain a federal certificate of proficiency in business administration, so I enrolled at the AKAD full-time business school.

2 How much longer will your training at the commercial college last and how do you see your professional future?

In the summer, the school-based part of the vocational training at the commercial college ends with the qualification procedure. After the exams, I'll do a work placement. Then I want to spend some time traveling through Asia. When I get back, I will continue my training to become an accountant. I love working with numbers.

3 Why are you training to become an EFZ business administrator at AKAD?

AKAD won me over right from the start. Other business schools also invited me to orientation interviews, but none made such a positive impression on me straight away. I was also impressed by AKAD's training methods and curriculum. Another thing that spoke in AKAD's favor was its central location. AKAD is very easy to reach by public transport. In addition, their full-time business school is a good alternative to a commercial apprenticeship. At the end of the course, I will have an office management diploma, a commercial diploma and recognized language certificates in English and French in my hands - and thus a few trump cards for the future.

4. which aspects of your course do you particularly like?

The motivation of the teachers at the commercial school. They are fully committed and address the concerns of us students. Thanks to the good support at the business school, I discovered my special interest: numbers. In fact, accounting has turned out to be my new passion. I hadn't expected that!

5. were there any difficulties in the course of the commercial school?

There were no real difficulties at the commercial school. We are well prepared for the exams by the teachers, and they also help wherever necessary. For example, if someone doesn't understand something, they explain it again. There is always enough time for this. That's why I'm not particularly worried about exams.

6. did you have any experiences on the course that helped you personally?

What I did: I was enthusiastic about the subjects of economics and society and accounting because I could quickly understand how the different factors interact. And the AKAD method helped me to improve my foreign language skills quickly and easily.

7 Do you feel comfortable at the commercial school with your classmates and teachers?

I made a lot of new friends at the commercial school and the atmosphere in the class was right from the start. The teachers treat us in a friendly and courteous manner and they motivate us a lot - that creates a very stimulating learning environment.

8. do you get help finding a work placement?

Yes, and I think that's really good: AKAD supports us with an internship supervisor. If we have any questions about the internship or problems finding an internship, we can turn to her.

9. do you also benefit from this course for your life in general?

Definitely. I understand the economic and political context of media reports much better since attending business school. I have also learned more about financial matters and understood the importance of budgets. My personal handling of money is better now. And the foreign language skills I learned at business school don't just help me professionally when dealing with customers from abroad, I can also use them in my private life, for example on vacation.

10. what would you recommend to a student who is interested in this type of business school?

Really ask all their questions! From the very first lesson. It is also important that she makes a note of everything important in the lessons at the commercial school and allows enough time for learning.
