Short success stories from graduates and students of automation specialist training courses are published here on an ongoing basis.
Joel Scheidegger, mechanic, maintenance specialist with a federal certificate and automation specialist with a federal certificate
After completing his apprenticeship as a mechanic, Joel Scheidegger began working at BWB Bürox AG in Büren an der Aare, but quickly realized that his interest actually lay in the field of electrics. He therefore decided to expand his knowledge in an electrical course. However, after a discussion with the principal of the commercial and industrial vocational school in Bern gibb, he came to the conclusion that a simple course would hardly satisfy his thirst for knowledge and so he began a course that prepared him for the federal professional examination to become a maintenance specialist with a federal certificate. After a year, he completed the extra-occupational training and was already interested in a new subject: automation. Without further ado, Scheidegger informed himself about possible further training courses in this area and found what he was looking for. At the sfb Bildungszentrum, he began and completed the four-semester course to become an automation specialist with a federal certificate, which was held several evenings a week while working.
Promotion immediately after graduation
Joel Scheidegger was given the opportunity to develop his career after completing his training as a maintenance specialist with a federal certificate and was promoted to Head of Maintenance and Laboratory. Even after his further training in automation, he is still responsible for coordinating the work that arises, managing employees and leading projects for new installations. From time to time, especially in the event of electrical faults, he also returns to the workshop, which is what makes his job so varied.
The next training course already in sight
His wide-ranging specialist knowledge is of great benefit to Scheidegger in his day-to-day work and gives him the opportunity to understand the work and problems in the various areas. In particular, the learning content from his last training course on electronics and project management is still very helpful to him today and he can apply it in a targeted manner. You might think that Joel Scheidegger has now had enough of further training, but far from it. He is already planning another course in 2019, this time at a higher technical college, to become a qualified technician in HF electrical engineering with a specialization in electronics.
