Who are you and what have you done for a living so far?

My name is Andrin Alpiger. I am 23 years old. I like being on the football pitch when I'm not at school. I play midfield for FC Bäretswil. I trained as an EFZ draughtsman specializing in architecture. I then completed my vocational baccalaureate and decided to study architecture.

Why did you decide to study architecture?

I decided to study architecture because I really like the profession and I have a great interest in architecture.

What can you achieve by studying architecture?

By studying architecture, I can achieve a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture.

Are you studying architecture part-time or full-time?

The architecture course doesn't really allow for part-time study as it would be a bit complicated. I have therefore decided to study architecture full-time. This suits me well at the moment. I have a flat share in Winterthur and can concentrate fully on my Bachelor's degree at the University of Applied Sciences for three years.

What has studying architecture brought you personally?

Studying architecture has enabled me personally to make a lot of progress in architecture and design. After graduating, I can start an internship as an architect. There I will help out in a design office.

What is your long-term professional goal for the UAS degree program?

My professional goal after completing my degree in architecture (FH) is to move towards project management in an architecture firm as soon as I have completed my Master's degree. However, my long-term professional goal is to become a self-employed architect.
