Graduates of the “Real Estate Manager with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education” program are able to independently manage real estate properties such as residential and commercial buildings or industrial properties. They can set rental rates, draw up lease agreements, and enforce payment obligations. In addition to property accounting, they are familiar with the legal framework necessary to manage the dunning and collection process. Thanks to their business management skills, they can prepare reports and statements for property owners. In addition, real estate managers assign jobs to tradespeople, serve as the point of contact for building maintenance and tenants, and, depending on the position, lead their own team.
Upon passing the Federal Professional Examination to become a real estate manager, you will receive a federal certificate that is recognized throughout Switzerland. In addition to the specialized knowledge you’ll gain, you’ll also benefit greatly from the continuing education, further training program on a personal level. You’ll exchange ideas with other “like-minded” individuals (fellow participants, instructors, and industry partners) and build a professional network within the industry. This allows you to build your own professional network, which will serve you well time and again as you advance in your career—for example, when looking for a job in the future or when you want to gather information about potential employers.
With the Federal Diploma of Higher Education, you can go on to pursue continuing education to earn the Federal Diploma as a Real Estate Trustee or as a Facility Management Director. If you’d prefer to pursue a more generalist career path, a part-time degree program at a College of Higher Education could be another option—for example, to become a Certified Business Administrator (CHE).
