How does a Design Thinking workshop or course work and how much does it cost?

As a rule, design thinking workshops and courses follow a similar structure, which can proceed as follows: First, a brief introduction to the topic is given. Basic or, depending on the target group, in-depth theoretical knowledge of the Design Thinking method and the Design Thinking process is imparted. Finally, the practical phase follows. All six steps of the Design Thinking Process are run through on the basis of specific questions. Depending on time and requirements, the individual phases are looked at in more or less depth.

In a Design Thinking course, the focus is more on knowledge transfer, whereas in a Design Thinking workshop, the emphasis is on practical learning and practice based on specific problems.

TheDurationof the educational programs varies between

  • 1-2 days for workshops and courses, which usually take place all day, and
  • 1 semester for CAS modules, which often take place monthly on a working day and Saturday.

The training courses are offered as face-to-face and online events or as hybrid teaching formats.

TheCourse costsdepend above all on the number of lessons in online and face-to-face teaching as well as the respective support services and vary accordingly:

  • The course costs for the school's own certificates range from CHF 590 to CHF 1900.
  • For CAS postgraduate courses, course costs of between CHF 7,800 and CHF 8,400 can be expected.

This usually includes the course materials and the infrastructure on site.
