Wo übernachte ich während meines Sprachaufenthalts in Kanada?

Where do I stay during my language study trip in Canada?

The most popular type of accommodation is the host family. You will usually have your own room with a local family and share all the other rooms with them. It is a little cheaper if you decide to stay with a family who will take in another language student, usually a foreign language student, with whom you will share a room. If you prefer something a little more comfortable, you often have the option of opting for an executive stay with a host family, where you have your own room as well as your own bathroom. The main advantage of staying with a host family during a language study trip to Canada is that you can take part in the family's everyday life, eat breakfast and dinner with them and go on excursions at the weekend. You will always be able to overhear the conversations of the locals and have lively exchanges.

However, not everyone wants to live with a host family, so most language schools in Canada also offer you other types of accommodation. For example, there are student residences, especially in the larger cities, where you can move into a room or double room and use the public areas of the residence. However, please bear in mind that in this case you are self-catering, i.e. you are responsible for all your own meals. Apartments or studios are also often offered, which offer a little more comfort than halls of residence, but also very limited social interaction, which is detrimental to language learning, as is accommodation in a hotel or hostel. For fast and effective learning, the host family is therefore the most recommended option for language travel to Canada and should be preferred wherever possible.
