After completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, there is a very wide range of employers in the field of life sciences. Depending on the chosen field of study, other sectors may also come into consideration. For example, medical technology graduates can find employment in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, healthcare (healthcare IT), medical technology, planning and consulting, as well as medical device manufacturers, hospitals and clinics, contract manufacturers, technology providers and regulatory authorities. Graduates of environmental technology, on the other hand, are more likely to find future employment in biotechnology, process development and plant engineering, with plant operators for waste disposal, water and wastewater, in the life sciences and machine industry, with technology providers, NGOs, environmental administrations, insurance companies in risk analysis, with national and international authorities and organizations and in consulting. For other fields of study within this specialist area, employment in companies in the cosmetics and generics industry, food industry, agricultural technology, government institutions and analytical laboratories, contract research institutes or laboratory equipment manufacturers are also possible.
