Why is change management communication fundamental?

Almost every time something is to change in the company, the worst rumors, assumptions and fears are spread in the canteen, outside in the smoking areas and of course directly at the workplace - whether in the canteen, in the smoking area or directly at the workplace. The consequences of such negative rumor mill communication are devastating - because it leads to unnecessary panic, annoyance, insecurity and a loss of trust. Added to this are existential fears about jobs. This reduces motivation and the quality of work, which has a negative impact on the company and its success. Last but not least, it becomes increasingly difficult to convince such employees over time, if they do not even reorient themselves professionally in the meantime. Change management communication should therefore take place at an early stage via meetings, discussions or information letters. Communicate early and openly, because those who feel taken seriously and see themselves as part of the whole are more likely to be prepared for the change process.
