Wie wird man Anwalt / Anwältin?
How do you become a lawyer?
You can only become a lawyer if you complete a law degree at a university and are then admitted to the bar. This means that after a vocational apprenticeship, you must first complete the adult baccalaureate. The further procedure varies from canton to canton. As a rule, it looks something like this:
- Studied law (Bachelor's and Master's degree at a university)
- Legal internship at a court, with a lawyer or with a public authority
- Bar exam and entry in the register of attorneys
Note: Traineeships and bar examinations are regulated at cantonal level.
