How do I become a language course instructor in the integration sector?
In principle, you need a basic degree in linguistics or education (teacher) and corresponding continuing education, further training to work as a language course leader in the field of integration. However, it is also possible to complete a CAS or DAS directly. This would have to be clarified directly with the Universities of Teacher Education:
- CAS DaF / DaZ in the context of integration in Switzerland (UAS)
- CAS DaF / DaZ language support for adults (UAS)
- CAS Literacy in DaZ lessons (UAS)
- DAS Teacher of German as a Foreign and Second Language for Adults (UAS)
Private language schools often have different requirements. In some cases, training at adult education centers or private schools is sufficient. Depending on the training, Swiss-recognized SVEB certificates, the fide certificate for language course instructors in the field of integration or international certificates such as the CELTA Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults or EUROLTA cards are awarded.
