If you have yet to complete your apprenticeship, you now have the opportunity to opt for vocational education and training (VET) in interior design. Several apprenticeships are possible, for example

• Interior Decorator / Home Textile Designer with Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma), formerly Interior Decorating Seamstress
• Carpenter Federal VET Diploma
• Retail specialist Federal VET Diploma furniture, carpet and floor coverings, paints
• Draftsman Federal VET Diploma
• Floor parquet layer Federal VET Diploma
• Industrial upholsterer Federal VET Diploma

If you have already completed an apprenticeship and now want to work as an interior designer, certificate courses are highly recommended, which can also be attended while working. If you are interested, you can then continue your education and obtain a federal certificate, for example as an interior design consultant FPE. Such continuing education, further training is also highly recommended for the training courses listed above, as it gives you further specialization and increases your chances on the job market.
