What are the principles of Lean Six Sigma?
The two methods Six Sigma and Lean Management both follow their own principles.
In Lean Six Sigma, elements from both methods are combined into one. This results in a whole set of fundamental principles:
- Working in the interests of the customer: All optimization measures should meet the highest quality standards from the market and thus bring benefits for the customer.
- Localize, identify and focus on problems: When working on problem solving, care should be taken to ensure that there are no major distractions from other problems. True to the motto: one thing at a time.
- Elimination of bottlenecks and deviations: Process optimization should be achieved by identifying different ways to reduce errors.
- Clear communication and continuing education, further training: Employees involved in Lean Six Sigma should be trained accordingly.
- Act flexibly and responsibly: New things are often not perfect right from the start. When introducing Lean Six Sigma, it is quite possible that certain approaches and strategies will need to be readjusted over time in order to achieve the best possible result.
