How long do I have to have worked in animal care before I can do a shortened animal care apprenticeship?
No professional experience in animal care is required for the shortened apprenticeship, but rather a professional qualification, i.e. an apprenticeship with Federal VET Diploma in a related profession.
However, with at least five years of professional experience, including at least three years in the field of animal care, it is possible to obtain the vocational qualification "Federal VET Diploma in Animal Care" in accordance with Art. 32 BBV as a lateral entrant.
To this end, participants prepare for the qualification process (formerly the final apprenticeship examination) either independently or in special courses.
