How long does it take to train as a nutritionist?
The degree course in Nutritional Counseling at a University of Applied Sciences takes 3-4 years (depending on whether the course is completed full-time or part-time). This must be followed by a 10 to 12-month practical module.
For a nutritionist training course with an internal diploma, you should expect it to take about 1 year.
Nutrition coach courses are available for as little as 2 months, although these are usually used in conjunction with other training courses, such as fitness trainer or personal trainer, and are not sufficient to work as a nutritionist on their own.
