How long does an apprenticeship in automotive engineering take?

  • Federal VET Diploma retail specialist in car parts logistics - 3 years
  • Management assistant in the automotive trade - 3 years
  • Automotive specialist - 3 years
  • Automotive mechatronics technician - 4 years

These basic training courses are ideally suited to building on them to make a career in the desired field of automotive engineering. Interesting courses are available to you, including the following:

  • Automotive sales advisor with federal certificate - part-time 1.5 years
  • Automotive diagnostician with federal certificate - part-time 2 - 3 years
  • Automotive service advisor with federal FA - part-time 2 years
  • Automotive workshop coordinator with federal certificate - part-time 2 years
  • Diploma in Business Administration AFPE - part-time 2 years

You may also be interested in a bachelor's degree in automotive engineering and further education courses at universities of applied sciences. These have a duration of around 6 semesters for a Bachelor's degree and 4 semesters for a Master's degree.
