Wie lange dauert ein Studium an einer Höheren Fachschule oder an einer Fachhochschule zur Pflegefachfrau / zum Pflegefachmann?

How long does it take to study to become a nursing specialist at a College of Higher Education or a University of Applied Sciences?

Training at a College of Higher Education lasts three years for prospective nurses on a full-time basis, four years on a part-time basis with a minimum 50 percent workload in nursing.

Depending on the school, a shortened 2-year course is possible for people with sufficient previous education. However, the Federal VET Diploma in Healthcare Specialist (FaGe) does not automatically qualify for this.

People who want to study to become a nursing specialist at a University of Applied Sciences (UAS) can expect to spend three years full-time or four to four and a half years studying part-time.

Qualified nurses can obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing in one and a half to two and a half years while working.
