How long does it take to train as an architect?
If you want to study architecture, you can expect a Bachelor's degree to take 3.5 years, which includes 3 years of study and 6 months of work experience. The subsequent Master's degree course takes a further 2.5 years, which again includes a six-month internship.
In the case of continuing education, further training courses at Universities in the form of a CAS, DAS or MAS, the time periods of the courses vary depending on the educational institution, degree and focus, also because these continuing education, further training courses are not federally regulated degrees.
In principle, however, you can expect 1-2 semesters for a CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies), 2-3 semesters for a DAS (Diploma of Advanced Studies) and 4-6 semesters for an MAS (Master of Advanced Studies).
