How long does air traffic training take?

There are a number of very different training and continuing education, further training courses on offer in the field of aviation, all of which have a very different focus and duration.

The Swiss air navigation service provider skyguide's training program for air traffic control specialists CHE lasts 2.5 years (full-time).

Training to become a CHE pilot takes 20-22 months, full-time at the European Flight Academy and 3 years part-time at Horizon.

The aviation course at University of Applied Sciences level (180 ECTS credits) lasts 6 semesters (full-time) or longer depending on the organizational form (part-time studies, practice-integrated Bachelor's degree course, international profile).
