Each language school sets its own timetable, so it is not possible to generalize about the exact duration of a language diploma preparation course. During your language study trip to Australia, you usually have the option of registering for a standard or intensive course that prepares you for the individual exams. These exams are usually the well-known Cambridge exams, such as FCE (First Certificate in English), CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) or the BEC (Business English Certificate). IELTS and BULATS exams are also possible, as are various other exams that specialize in different professional fields. However, it is usually the FCE and CAE that are offered by the various language schools during a language study trip, as the demand for these two exams is the highest. The preparation courses usually last 10 to 12 weeks. Some language schools also offer FCE courses within 6 weeks, but this often proves to be extremely strenuous and leaves you little time for leisure.
