Wie kann ich bei Sprachreisen Geld sparen?
How can I save money on language travel?
A language study trip abroad is always associated with costs that depend on the chosen course location, the course itself, accommodation, meals, leisure activities, travel and other points, but can also vary greatly within these. For example, intensive courses with 30 lessons per week are naturally more expensive than standard courses with only 20 lessons per week. If you would like to spend three weeks in a language school, you will receive 90 lessons in an intensive course and only 60 lessons in a standard course. The difference is 30 lessons, i.e. one week of intensive lessons, so that for the same number of lessons you could actually only take 2 weeks of intensive language course instead of 3 weeks of standard course. In this case, you would therefore also save a week's accommodation, as well as all other costs incurred for this week, so that in the end you can even save money with a more expensive course. The principle of calculating also applies to accommodation. Even if some types of accommodation, such as shared flats, are cheaper than host families with many providers, you should bear in mind that meals are only included with host families, but not with all other types of accommodation (except for youth language trips). Other important criteria for keeping a language study trip as cost-effective as possible:
- If possible, choose the low season
- Check which leisure activities are included in the price
- Choose a destination with a lower cost of living
- From two bookings, for example you and a friend, there is often a discount
- Pay attention to exchange rates
- Save on local transport costs with accommodation close to schools
- Book early
