How can I become a practice assistant?
You can become a medical practice assistant (MPA) by completing an apprenticeship with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma). This type of training takes place one to three days a week at a vocational college (in the first year of training) or one to one and a half days a week (in the second and third year of training), with the remaining days of the week spent in a doctor's practice. There are also inter-company courses. The training is completed with a qualification procedure (formerly the final apprenticeship examination).
