How can I become a naturopath / naturopathic doctor?
ATTENTION: Are you looking for training to become a "naturopath"? - Then you should know: These designations are no longer permitted in Switzerland, as the word components "Arzt" and "Ärztin" are only permitted for people with a university degree and qualification. The term "naturopath", on the other hand, is just right for you.
The path to becoming a naturopath initially leads through aCoursein basic medical principles and the corresponding alternative medical specialty, which is usually accompanied by aschool certificate or diplomacloses.
If the training is recognized by the Organization of the Working World of Alternative Medicine OdA AM, you can use the school certificate to obtain theCertificate OdA AMcatch up. If elements are still missing (for example, a few hours of training in basic medical principles or practical experience), you can catch up on these and apply for the OdA AM certificate later.
With the OdA AM certificate, you have the opportunity to take the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) and graduate as anNaturopath with federal diploma. You can obtain this in the fields of Traditional European Naturopathy (TEN), Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), homeopathy and Ayurvedic medicine.
