Wie ist die Weiterbildung in der Flugsicherung aufgebaut?
How is continuing education, further training in air traffic control structured?
After four months of basic training at the skyguide training center in Dübendorf, during which you will learn the basics of aviation and air traffic control in theory lessons, as well as the topics of flight plan processing, technical language, aeronautical information service and teamwork, you will receive practical training at the helpdesk and flight plan service. You will receive, process and distribute flight plans, deal with operating procedures and systems and learn how to apply them directly. You will also receive an introduction to other operational areas. This is followed by specialization in AIM (Aeronautical Information Management) or ATM (Air Traffic Management). The AIM specialization deals with the provision of aviation-related data, while the ATM specialization deals with the processing of flight data and traffic flow management. After further on-the-job training, you will write a diploma thesis in aviation.
