How is the AFPE for purchasers structured?
The Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for Purchasing Managers is now known as the "eidg. dipl. Einkaufsleiter / Einkaufsleiterin" and takes place orally and in writing. It is divided into nine examination parts, all of which are weighted equally (1), with the exception of the diploma thesis, which is weighted three times. The examination parts "Procurement Controlling", "Procurement Marketing", "Strategic Supplier Management" and "Sourcing Strategies" are examined within one and a half hours in a written paper, while the examination parts "IT in Management", "International Contract Law", "Corporate Management" and "Negotiation" are examined in an oral examination lasting three quarters of an hour. In addition to the written thesis, this is also examined in an oral examination.
