How is the Federal Professional Examination for hairdressers structured?
The Federal Professional Examination (FPE) for hairdressers with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education comprises six parts. The "professional management" part of the examination is completed in writing within two hours and is weighted twice. A written dossier on the subject of "Relooking" is prepared in advance, for which you have eight weeks. In this part, you will carry out a practical re-look of chemical color change or permanent hair reshaping, including consultation and sales, within 130 minutes, and chemical color change or permanent hair reshaping in the third part of the examination, also within 130 minutes. The fourth part comprises an "updo hairstyle", the fifth part of the examination "cutting" including consultation and the sixth part a half-hour technical discussion with reflection.
