How is the literacy course structured in German as a second language lessons?
The certificate course CAS Literacy in German as a Second Language Teaching consists of three subject blocks with classroom teaching and self-study:
- Literacy - individuals and social context
- Supporting the acquisition of written language
- Methods, materials and media in literacy education
Participants also choose two compulsory elective modules on topics such as media skills, everyday math, dealing with traumatized learners or civic skills. Classroom teaching takes place every two weeks on Fridays and two Saturdays, with a total of 15 course days over two semesters. Participants receive 15 ETCS.
