Within six semesters, optometry students are immediately trained in both theory and practice. They learn the basics of optometry, anatomy, pathology and physiology, which also includes lens technology, biostatistics, chemistry, biochemistry, contact lens fitting, binocular vision, low vision, optometric eye examination and pediatric optometry. In addition, there are specialist supplements with three or more modules as well as contextual further training with subjects such as English, business administration, law and ethics, argumentation and rhetoric or writing practice. Practical projects and internships are also included in the Bachelor's degree program in Optometry, as well as other freely selectable modules.
