In order to be admitted "sur dossier", i.e. without the general university admission requirements, to a Bachelor's degree course at a University of Teacher Education (UTE) to become a teacher for pre-school level, persons with other qualifications can take an entrance examination / aptitude test and, if necessary, attend certain preparatory courses at the individual UTEs.
However, the prerequisite for lateral entry into kindergarten continuing education or training is always a minimum age of 27 years and, after completing upper-secondary level, work experience of at least 3 years (300 full-time equivalents) over a maximum period of seven consecutive years.
However, the Universities of Teacher Education set their own admission requirements. There may therefore be differences from school to school.
