Welche Voraussetzungen gelten für Kunsttherapielehrgänge?

What are the requirements for art therapy courses?

There is a strong distinction between the admission requirements for the individual courses in art therapy.

For example, seminars that end with an internal certificate (cert.) are usually subject to less stringent guidelines than those for admission to the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE).

This means that it is often possible for career changers without the relevant training and continuing education, who have sufficient experience in accompanying people, whether in a private or professional environment, to register for training, for example after an aptitude test or even without any admission requirements.

A prerequisite, however, is always the joy of working with people with different emotional, mental, social or physical disorders, as well as a passion for the arts.

The following admission requirements apply for admission to the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for Art Therapists with a Federal Diploma:

  • Degree at continuing education and training / tertiary level in one of the following fields: Healthcare, education, arts or social work

or

  • Upper-secondary level diploma and passed the GVB equivalency exam

and

  • have worked in one of the following fields for at least 50% of two years: Healthcare, education, art or social services
  • Proof of completed modules or certificate of equivalence
  • Provide evidence of at least 20 hours of case supervision with supervisors recognized by OdA Artecura
