The Federal Professional Examination for Nature and Environment Specialists with Federal Diploma of Higher Education consists of three parts:

- Examination part 2 (oral): Case study
- Examination part 3 (written and oral): Final thesis (submission of rough concept with application, project implementation and preparation of report, submission of report, presentation and expert discussion)
