Welche Tätigkeiten übt ein Maltherapeut oder eine Maltherapeutin aus?
What does a painting therapist do?
Painting therapists use various creative means to accompany people during crisis or illness situations, to support them in their change processes and to promote their mental, physical and spiritual health. To this end, artistic works are created and the associated material is explored. A wide variety of materials are used, be it ink or watercolor, chalk, clay, leaves, stones, sand, wood or pencil.
Creative or painting therapy enables patients to actively deal with and reflect on their own past, problems and fears, self and desires, ideas and attitudes. Painting, designing, drawing and depicting are forms of artistic expression that seem to come naturally to people and can make their innermost self visible. The painting therapist accompanies the patient on this path, listens to them and works with them to process what they have experienced.
