Welche Kriterien sind bei einem Sprachaufenthalt in China zu berücksichtigen?
What criteria need to be taken into account for a language study trip to China?
When studying in China, it is important that you choose a school that has a certain standard and employs well-trained teachers. The language trainers should be native speakers of Mandarin, but should also have an excellent command of other languages, preferably English. It is not unlikely that you will meet German-speaking staff, but this is not the rule, so your English should also be at least adequate if you do not already have some knowledge of Chinese. In huge cities such as Beijing, Shanghai or Qingdao, it can take several hours to get from one end of the city to the other by public transport or even by car in gridlocked traffic. The location of the language school should therefore not be underestimated. A Chinese school in the city center, close to the sights, such as the Imperial Palace and Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, is therefore recommended.
There are very big differences in the furnishings of the classrooms and the entire school grounds. Look out for air-conditioned classrooms and internet access. Enquire about teaching materials and accommodation directly with the schools. Not all schools offer accommodation with host families; more often rooms are offered directly on the school grounds or in hotels. The advantage of accommodation directly on the school grounds is certainly the elimination of travel time and increased contact with fellow students, even outside lesson times.
